What:
Several MOCs debuted. David Schilling demonstrated a walker based on the
NXT. David Winkler showed a small scale version of his current project:
two figures, one supporting another who is reaching upward. The "real
thing" will be life-size and multichromatic. Justin Major had a new
Viking longboat. Rick Clark had a mosaic version of the Aqua Teen Hunger
Force not-bomb, which used blacklight illumination to good effect. For
the theme of the meeting, Maxifigs, Scott Fowler brought Jango Fett and
Thomas Garrison and Steven Walker brought their partially completed
figures.

Wayne Hussey raffled off a spare Box4Blox, which David Schilling won.
Jon Rasmussen recounted his adventures in the Midwest being arrested and
visiting several Tuesday Morning stores in search of Lego.
Someone described a recently-posted article which discussed yellowing of
plastic. The declared cause of yellowing was UV light; according to the
article, sufficient exposure to UV light (e.g., sunlight or flourescent
light) starts an unstoppable chemical reaction which yellows ABS
(especially, of course, white and gray) at a variable rate that depends on
the particular batch of ABS used for each piece.
David Schilling announced that the source code for the NXT firmware has
been made public; new firmware is already being written by fans.
