Daniel had pictures of MOCs going as a continuous slideshow.
Several MOCs were displayed, including Wayne's building under
construction, Rick's shrine to St. Vincent, Anu's miniature golf course, Jeff's house, Justin's bulldozer, and Dan Parker's buildings for the FAO Schwarz project. I hope someone took pictures. . .
While viewing pictures of Gary's Lego studio/solar system display, Dan Parker gave a talk on how he and Gary made it.
NWBrickCon 2006
Still October 6, 7, and 8 (with drop-off on October 5)
Bookmarks are out there. Some issues have been raised about the current round, so the next round will have differences.
Publicity is a major push this year
Mark Neumann needs to know about area event calendars so he can put us on them.
There will be more bookmark-like things, for the Puyallup Fair, possibly the Store's Window on the Community, etc. There was some discussion of tweaks to the bookmarks, like making a tearaway portion a $1 off coupon for admission, numbered or color-coded to tell us which distribution channel was most effective.
Billboards, such as the electronic one in Fife, are attractive, but probably too expensive for us.
There will be raffles for the public
Extensive use of volunteers should make public hours less of a perceived burden for Con attendees. Attendees will
still be needed to staff public admission.
The Brick Bazaar will be open to the public.
Puyallup Fair
PSLTC will be drawing up a plan soon for this lengthy display (September 8--24). Appropriate contemporary Town MOCs
will be welcome with sufficient advance notice. In
particular, Jeff Pelletier is developing a suburban
standard (to be discussed in a future e-mail). Also,
PSLTC is planning to use the COLTC modular hill standard
http://news.lugnet.com/trains/?n=26748
and could use more modules. Notice of MOCs that will be
available for the Fair should be sent to Thomas Garrison.
Anu is going to India for six months. We want her to remember to come back. . .
Eight people drafted the third-wave X-Pods.
