Rick gave a report on the golfing trip to LEGOLAND California that made him miss the May meeting and showed a slideshow of pictures from the trip. Gary McIntire and Connor featured heavily.

BrickCon 2008 will be October 3, 4, and 5, 2008, at the Seattle Center. Registration is open now at
http://www.brickcon.org/
Registration prices go up in August, so register now. We are working on bookmarks, business cards, and postcards to promote the public portion of the Con. Wayne will make those available to anyone who wants to distribute them when they are printed.

Since there will be no Robothon in 2008, David Schilling is considering putting together a robotics competition at BrickCon 2008 and would like to gauge interest. If you might participate in an RCX or NTX-based robot competition this October please let him know.

The Puget Sound LEGO Train Club will be traveling to Anaheim in July to display at the train show associated with the National Model Railroader Association annual convention. If you're going to be in Anaheim July 18--20 you should come see it.

Stuff out there: Summer releases are all available in ToysRUs and many are available at other retailers. Castle, Bionicle, and SpongeBob are on long-term sale (preparatory to clearance) at Fred Meyer. TRUs that still have clearance items (like 8271 or 7709) may have them up to 75% off.

The most recent round of LEGO Ambassadors have been selected
http://news.lugnet.com/announce/?n=3795
and Andrew will be returning as an Ambassador representing SEALUG. No one was nominated by SEALUG as such because no one from SEALUG did the nominating or testimonials. Andrew will express our unhappiness at the brevity of the process for recruitment/nomination/testimonials.

Stuff people brought: Lino brought Downtown Action Brown, the driver of the car he is currently constructing. Wayne brought a new, better ball pump mechanism. Steve brought a 50s style pickup truck. Lino and Jusin Major brought caves that reflect the BrickCon 2008 theme of Adventure.

It has been confirmed that, effective Monday, large Pick-a-Brick cup prices will increase to . The price for small cups will also go up. There will be a modest discount for reusing cups purchased after Monday. With the sharply rising costs for LEGO's materials and distribution, expect higher prices for future LEGO offerings.

July Meeting:
When: Saturday, July 12, 2008 (note special later date)
Where: TDB. Wayne will call Cathy Webb to find out if she would like to host at the Edmonds Homeschool Resource Center
Draft: 7625, River Chase

August Meeting:
When: Saturday, August 2, 2008
Where: Sue Howard's house, Auburn. There will probably be a potluck cookout---Sue will post additional information as the date approaches.
Draft: No draft has been decided although 8158, Speed Racer and Snake Oiler, has been suggested. 8158 was too difficult to obtain for a successful draft for June, but the set remains in LEGO's product assortment through the fall and Wal-Mart, for example, should start stocking it in August.
