July is a busy month for SeaLUG, so we’ll share a bit more information about all the exciting display opportunities coming up!

July 1 – Geek Xtravaganza, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. in Everett

First up this month is the Geek Xtravaganza convention in Everett at the Angel of the Winds arena. Billed as a “unique geek shopping event,” this event features gifts and cosplay from pop culture and comics. We’ll have a small contingent of members displaying their pop-culture-themed builds. Visit their Facebook page for more info. Stay tuned for photos from the event!

July 5 – Valley Mall Kids Club, 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. in Yakima

The Valley Mall in Yakima holds Kids Club events every Wednesday throughout the summer, and on July 5 they will have a Lego build event hosted by our SeaLUG / HarvestLUG members on the east side of the mountains. If you’re in the area, stop by and check out the display and build area. Visit the Valley Mall events page for more info.

July 8 – Totem Lake Connector Grand Opening, 2 – 4 p.m. in Kirkland

The following Saturday will be the grand opening celebration of the Totem Lake Connector, a new foot and bike bridge in the Totem Lake neighborhood in Kirkland. Last year our group was commissioned to build a scale model of the bridge, which was completed after many months and many group building sessions. Now that the bridge is finished, our model will be permanently displayed on-site. Join us for the ribbon cutting and check out our build! Visit the City of Kirkland website for more info.

July 15 – Vashon Strawberry Festival, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Vashon Island

The Vashon Strawberry Festival returns this year, held all weekend from July 14 – 16. On Saturday, July 15, our resident SeaLUG / PSLTC members will be hosting a train display, a custom map of Vashon Island and landmarks, and more. There will be lots of activities and local vendors so it’s sure to be a good time; be sure to check the ferry schedule and traffic before you go. Visit the festival page to learn more.

As you can see, there is a lot going on this month and many opportunities to visit us and say hi! If you’d like to learn more about becoming a member or displaying at upcoming shows, please reach out to us for more info.
