It will certainly be on. Have you been to the website since the last
Brickvention?

I have not yet broken them... But the best point is they don't slip, as slipping
cause excessive wear of gears. For example the first version of my killer dozers
(http://philohome.com/kdozer/kd.htm) used the 12 double bevel gear but after
playing some time gears kept on slipping because their teeth were worn out.
After replacing them with knob wheels (http://philohome.com/kdozer/kdi1.jpg), no
more problems!

Wow, Lars! looks like I have a ton of work ahead of me getting the GUI to
accommodate all the new options. I'll get started this week.

Hello Mike...
Many thanks for your offer of help. I dimensioned it as best I could with a
ruler as I don't have any calipers available at the moment. If you can build
some type of mock up that would be great if you have the time.
I have a graphic (JPG) of the part with dimensions added. Is there a way to
upload it in this forum (I see that the upload/attach options is for .DAT
files,
not sure if a graphic file would upload) or can I send it directly to you?
Once again, thanks for your assistance.

What! No comments yet?
Excellent work guys. I've only skimmed it so far but what I skimmed was very
fun. Good to see the Royal Train make a reappearance.

lugnet.admin.statistics, FUT: lugnet.admin.general:
This is a daily snapshot of the numbers of e-mail subscribers to LUGNET
news/discussion groups. The number shown next to each group is the number
of e-mail addresses on the outgoing mailing list for that group. The
histograms on the far left summarize the time intervals at which people
have chosen to receive the groups.
If the newsgroup name is a hierarchy (ends in .*) rather than a single
group, then the number shown next to it is the total number of unique
e-mail addresses across all mailing lists for that hierarchy.
Note: Although these numbers do provide certain insights on readership,
they do not fully indicate total readership, because there is no way to
track subscriptions except the ones going out by e-mail. (Keep in mind
that all these discussion groups are also read via NNTP and HTTP.)

Here is a video showing how to set up LPub and how to use it to create
instructions for a simple model:
http://www.viddler.com/explore/anoved/videos/22/
Links to all the files used in the example are available on that page. The
screencast was recorded on a Mac, but I think most of the features should work
the same in Windows.
The example model is very simple. If you have trouble arranging instructions as
you'd like, consider changing the sequence and structure of your MPD file. Use
steps liberally, and use submodels for logical subassemblies, which can be shown
as callouts.
I hope you find this useful.

Re, this set:
Hi Ms. Natenshon,
Following is the Bricklink (which is an online Lego sales site kind of like
ebay) catalog Price Guide info on that set:
It shows the set sold for $38.00 within the last 6 months.
These are the currently available sets on Bricklink:
There are 2 currently for sale on that site and range in price from $30 to $69.
The condition of the set your client has (including the box and the Lego itself)
would come into play when trying to set an asking price for it. Other questions
would include are all the Lego pieces there, has it been opened, etc.
Hope this helps and for future reference, the following newsgroups would be
better to post in for these kind of questions:
- for valuation questions
- for sales offers
HTH and Good luck!

I hadn't even thought about it. I can use the wheels. Are they build much
stronger than the bevel gears? That is a very good idea. Thank you!

I don't think that there is a file for that at present. The only information I
found was this thread (http://news.lugnet.com/cad/dat/parts/?n=5406).
As it is a compound part it is much more difficult than other parts. If a mockup
will work for you I can create one (maybe only dimensions are ok) if you can
provide me the dimensions.

Great job, though I wish there were more and closer pictures of it, it looks
like you used some great techniques. How did you do the white walls of the
drivers? Paint? Any chance you could take a close up of both the drivers and
small wheels with the white walls? I've been wanting to add white walls to a
few of my own steam engines, but I've been debating on how to actually do it.
I'll be looking forward to more.
